How old do I look?!?

On Wednesday afternoon Alisha, Macey, Case and I all headed over to Bethel's new dining center to join Brooke for lunch. The new dining center is amazing, it's unbelievable how much it's improved since we've been there. Well welcome week was just getting started, meaning that all of the new freshmen were moving in. Thursday was the official day, but Wednesday - the day we were there - was when student workers moved in. It was pretty busy in the DC. So... I'm standing in one of the food lines behind two freshmen who are twins. A couple comes up and the lady says to me, "Would you mind if we budded in line in front of you, these are my kids and I just need every last second with them that I can get!" Of course, I say it's fine for them to hop in line with their kids. So her husband and I start chit chatting, I asked if the twins are their oldest kids, he says yes and then says, "Are you here to drop off one of your kids to start college?" Uhhh, what?!? I have an 11 month old!! But I just smile and say, "Actually, no I'm just here having lunch with my sisters, I graduated from Bethel 5 years ago." He looked a bit shocked, we chatted some more and when he said bye he said, "Um, sorry I thought you were old enough to have an 18 year old child."
When did I begin to look more like the parents than the college students?!?!

PC Region Reunion

On Monday night, we had a 2009 PC Class Midwest Reunion. It was great, we had a turnout rate of 100% - both couples showed up! :) Getting together with the Leslie's was so much fun. We met up on Grand Avenue and had dinner together at Brasa (the place Matt and I went with some friends a few weeks ago, needless to say we'd recommend it to anyone!). We had a great time catching up, laughing about PC memories and of course, eating! We had dinner with the Leslie's a year ago before we headed to the PC, it's crazy what a difference a year makes. Last year, we had a great time getting to know them but this year, it was such a blast fellowshipping with great friends. After dinner, we walked across the street to Grand Ole Creamery for some ice cream and a chance to take some pictures!

A perfect game, ruined

I have waited five years for this. I am married to a man that is better at me than EVERYTHING! I mean, it is quite humbling, because I mean, everything!! But then it happened, I found something I can finally beat him at! Hallelujah!! (Have I mentioned, we are a bit competitive?) What is this glorious thing you ask? It's Norwegian Golf (or ladder golf, or a ton of other names I've heard it called). Basically it's a lawn game that is AWESOME!! The Eikums own a set and one day Matt and I decided to play and I beat him! Then we played again and I beat him! Then I played Matt and his brother Ryan... and I beat them! It's been an amazing run, but as usual, all good things must come to an end. We played tonight, and the final score was Matt 21, me 20. Boo... I am still in mourning. But it is a fabulous game that I would recommend to anyone.

"All The Single Ladies"

Case needs some boy buddies!! He has so many girlfriends! About two weeks ago one night we hung out with the Darlings and their daughters Hazel and Sylvia, and the Patenaudes and their daughters Eva and Hope. The next day we hung out with my friend Maria and her daughters Layla and Penny. The following day we had lunch and went for a walk with Lindsey and her daughter, Grace. And then the following day we spent the afternoon with Macey!
Despite all this he sure is a boy's boy! He loves climbing, jumping, airplanes, any size ball, throwing things, wrestling, being thrown up in the air and so much more! So anyone who has a son and wants a manly play date, Case is ready (ahhem... Sarah W, ahhem)!

*By the way - those of you not up on pop culture, the title of the blog is a popular song right now :)

A Chip Off the Old Block

Everyone who has ever met Case has the same reaction, "Wow - he looks just like Matt!" He really does, he is Matty through and through. I think it's great! But every once in a while something happens that makes me realize, yep - he's his momma's son. And tonight at dinner, one of those things happened... that boy loves him some macaroni and cheese! Ahh, so great to see him at least get the important things from me! Here's crossing my fingers that he's got my sense of humor! :)

Case, Grace and Coleman

Another great thing about living with the Eikum's is that we live two blocks away from one of our good college friends, Lindsey! Lindsey has a cutie daughter, Grace, just 6 weeks younger than Case. On Monday, Andrea and Coleman came up for a visit, so the three of us mom's packed up the babies and walked the two blocks to the wading pool. It was so much fun!
Here's our attempt at getting a picture of the three of them:
It's like Case is saying to them, let's make this difficult...
Coleman is on the move while Case bugs Grace...
Case's turn to scoot away, but I love this one of Coleman! Finally a good one!
I took about 80 pictures (our camera has a continuous shoot thing, and I seriously think Grace looked perfect for about 75 of them, but those two little boys were into everything!
We played at the pool for about an hour while the kids all had a blast taking turns in Coleman's floatie thing. Then we headed back to Lindsey's and put them all down for a nap so we actually had a little while to talk without having to chase around the little ones. It wasn't long before they all woke up and then Hannah came over! The babies all love Hannah and she LOVES the babies! It was so much fun, then we were super adventerous and the four of us took the kids to Noodles and actually, it was an amazing success! It was so fun to be with a group of our college roommates again! It was so great to see what the Lord has done in each of our lives since college, he's been so faithful! I love you girls and love your babies!

Splash Park

Last week we went to the local water park for a friends daughter's birthday party. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and Matt and I were watching Macey as well. Case thought the water was a little chilly so spent most of the afternoon sitting and playing with Hannah B.

Macey thought the splash park was great and spent hours running in and out, jumping, splashing, laughing and bringing Matty along with her every where she went.
First she tries telling him she wants him to come with into the pool...

When that didn't work, she took matters into her own hands..
We all had a great time, but I think Macey would have slept there if we would have let her!
