Sadie's Play Date!

We have had a summer full of fun and a whole lot of play dates at the park and the pool, etc! One thing I started to notice is that we have a LOT of boys around Case and Sadie's age that we have a ton of fun playing with! But I realized we haven't had a lot of chances to do "girlie things"! So we did a little kid swap and invited Sadie's friend Anne over, she's in the middle of two brothers just like Sadie so Case went to her house for some boy fun!
Sadie and Anne had played together a lot but always with their brothers, it was so funny how at first they didn't really know what to do. They just stared at each other, but then I busted out the nail polish and they were super excited! While I painted their nails and curled their hair, they got to watch Cinderella.

Then the girls played for little bit while I got their tea party ready. They came down in their fancy dresses and had a great time enjoying their tea party!

After the Tea Party the girls played a bit more and then we headed out for ice cream! They still wanted to wear their costumes and of course, they held hands as we walked into the store - loved it!
They insisted on getting the same "pink" ice cream :)

Sadie was pretty tuckered out after all the fun!

First year of preschool

I think I've mentioned a couple of times on this blog that we have really loved Case's preschool and feel very blessed to have found it. It's crazy to believe that his first year is already over! Here's some pictures from his first day!
and his last day of school!
Then we had the closing program! It was so fun to see Case up there singing with his classmates, I even got a little emotional! He was just so cute and seemed so big!
Here he is walking in, he kept waving at us, it was so sweet...

I think I gave him a thumbs up or someting here and this was his response!
And here he is singing!!
And getting his certificate from his teacher!
So proud of his certificate!
and so proud to have his little brother there!
Case with his teacher Mrs. Bergdall
and Mrs. McNally.
I asked Case, "Did your teachers say they were going to miss you?" He said, "Not exactly... they said they were going to cry." Then he kind of gave me a look like, isn't that silly!
The night of the program, his teachers gave us a little present which ended up being a scrapbook of his whole year. Pictures of him in class all year, projects he worked on and little interviews of things he said all year, it was so nice!
The kids and I after the program...
We are so proud of you Case!

Sadie is 3!!!

On June 3rd, Sadie celebrated her "golden birthday" and turned 3! We celebrated by having a little garden tea party for her. My friend Emily offered for us to have the party in her screened in back porch which ended up being perfect. It was really fun to plan a girly party this time around and I was able to find so much of the party things at the dollar store. For starters, these little wings for the girls.
I also made little flower head wreaths for the girls and leaf ones for the boys. It was incredibly easy once I looked up how to do felt flowers on pinterest (how did we do anything before pinterest)! Here is Sadie sporting her head wreath and wings and telling us she's three!
I always feel like I  need to plan activies for the kids to do, but they just had so much fun playing together. This is a pic of all the kids at the party!
Big brother loving on his little sister!
And sweet little Lincoln wearing his mini leaf band!
We had the kids come in and decorate these little flower pots with stickers, I was shocked how perfectly quite they all were while decorating their pots, they took it very seriously!
While they decorated their pots, all of us parents filled up their plates.
I made "caterpillars" (grapes on scewers with candy eyes), pj and j sandwiches, butterfly celery sticks, ants on a log and butterfly snack bags.

I also made these little flower straws (again, all of this was from pinterest and so easy and cheap!)

For dessert they took their flower pots, put in some "soil" (brownies) and "flower seeds"...
and then they got a little flower! They were cute little mini cupcakes decorated by Emily!

Happy Birthday, sweet Sadie Belle! We love you to pieces and are hankful for our little tough-as nails girly, girl! You are one of a kind, you keep us on our toes and keep us laughing!

Great Wolf Lodge

Kansas City has a great water park hotel, Great Wolf Lodge. You typically have to stay at the hotel to swim at the water park, but we snagged a deal to just get tickets to the park. It was so fun! I mean, I was expecting it to be a good time, but we had a BLAST! We took all three kids in the morning. Lincoln was in his car seat the majority of the time, he never made a peep, completely entertained and he loved all the white noise. We took him out at the end and took him swimming for the first time! He liked the water as long as it wasn't too cold. (sorry about the quality of the pics, we didn't want to bring our camera so these pics are from my phone).

loves swimming with daddy!

This picture makes me laugh, Sadie is embracing her role as middle child! As I was trying to take  picture of Case holding Lincoln, she jumped in front of the camera to do a bunch of "tricks".

Then we went home for nap time, Case couldn't quite make it until we got home, he crashed in the car with a french fry sticking out of his mouth! After naps, we dropped Lincoln off with a friend and took the two big kids back to Great Wolf Lodge. The park was practically empty that evening, so we had the run of the place. Case was fearless, he loved absolutely everything at the park.

This obstacle coarse thing was great. Case ran around on this thing most of the day. He climbed up nets, swung on ropes, shot water guns, and even stood under the water when the huge green bucket at the top filled up and poured out 1000s of gallons of water onto you. I stood under it and thought it hurt a little, but Case loved it!

Here are the kids, howling like a wolf!
And having races down the kiddie slides! Sadie spent a lot of time in the little kids area. In the evening when I didn't have Lincoln, she was much braver since she had me or Matty right next to her. We went down some really big slides on a double tube and she had so much fun. They had this huge plastic snake the kids could ride on in one of the pools, and Sadie just wanted me to hold her by the snakes head so she could say over and over again, "ohhhh, i wuv you snake, i really really really wuv you!"
I was really impressed with Great Wolf Lodge, it was really kid friendly, but Matt and I still had so much fun!

Where's the baby?

Case loves to play with Lincoln, and this is one of his favorite games! Pile the stuffed animals all around him! The rule is he can't put it on Lincoln's face. Lincoln actually really likes it, he started to get a little fussy here right when I got the camera out, always the way it works!

Then Case insisted I pile the animals on top of him, can you find his little foot?
